Business: Rentacrate was formed in London in the 1970s hiring out fibreboard crates to the removal industry and is now the UK’s largest independent provider of crates, totes, food trays and plastic pallet hire to the removal and relocation, distribution and food production industries.

Deal: Following a comprehensive strategic review, Hays plc determined that all non-core activities be divested. Rentacrate was consequently sold for £4m to entrepreneurs Niall Doris and Paul Evans.

Our Role: As part of a wider role with Hays plc, McInnes Corporate Finance were appointed to manage the disposal of Rentacrate. The sale of the business attracted a great deal of interest from corporates, individuals and private equity firms. McInnes Corporate Finance proceeded to run an efficient process through a number of key stages that served to maximise the sale proceeds to Hays plc within a rapid timeframe.
