McInnes Corporate Finance Voted Top Mid-Market Advisory Firm of the Year
Leeds-based McInnes Corporate Finance (MCF) has been voted 'mid-market advisory firm of the year' by a poll of 1,000 of Yorkshire's leading corporate dealmakers. Founded in 1994, MCF became part of AIM-quoted insolvency and corporate recovery specialists Begbies Traynor Group in May.
Run by Tim Edwards, Steve Roberts and David Irwin, MCF has built a strong reputation for advising companies in the mid-corporate sector on deals valued up to £50 million. In addition to corporate finance advice, the firm’s other activities include investigative, refinancing and recovery assignments across a broad range of industry sectors throughout the UK.
It has been a busy year for MCF having advised a number of high profile clients including NG Bailey, Silentnight Group, and US-quoted Matthews International on a range of M&A activity, in addition to the sale of Butler Group on behalf of 3i and the MBO of Whartons Shipping.
The Yorkshire Insider award is the latest to be won by MCF. In 2004, in recognition of its excellence, the firm won EN Magazine’s Yorkshire Deal of the Year in the £10 million to
£50 million deal category. It was also nominated for 'Boutique of the Year' in the prestigious European Venture Capital Association Awards.
Held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, the annual Yorkshire Dealmaker Awards are attended by 400 of Yorkshire’s top dealmakers and advisers. The awards enable business peers to recognise the best bankers, venture capitalists, corporate financiers and lawyers within the Yorkshire corporate deal marketplace.
